The reality here is we can maintain for as long as is necessary. After that, factors such as the pipe diameter come into play, alongside the number of modifications that need to occur once it is safe to access.
There are many instances where all that is required up to an hour. We find this a lot when the freeze plug is created around a 3-inch diameter pipe. The reason is that it gives enough time to change valves or to extend onto the existing infrastructure. If it’s a slightly or significantly larger pipe, the timings may adjust, and we’ll hold the plug in place longer to accommodate this.
